We are now accepting nominations for exchange students coming to School of Economics, Shanghai University for 2016-2017 academic year (for the autumn semester starting in September 2016 and/or for the entire academic year 2015-16).
1) The exchange period
2016-2017 academic year
Semester 1-Fall semester
Semester 2-Winter semester
Semester 3-Spring semester
Fall semester:
10 weeks classes: September 05- Nov.18
Winter semester:
Nov.28 2016- Jan. 06 2017, Feb. 13-March 24 2017.
Winter vacation: Jan.9-Feb.12 2017
(there will be winter vacation seperate the winter term in Feb.)
Spring semester:
March 27 –June 16 2017
2) Application procedure:
(1) Fill in the application forms(attachment 1);
(2) Room application forms, if you apply to live on campus (attachment 2)
(3) The transcript
(4) Passport copy
(5) 3 photos (2 inches, passport photo size.The students can give to the register office after arrival)
(6) 500 RMB application fee to the Enrollment Office. (hand in after the students’ arrival. This fee is paid by students themselves)
When students arrive, they also need to sumbit:
(1) 3 photos (2 inches, passport photo size)
(2) Insurance certificate copy ( They have to buy Chinese insurance, 800RMB per one year, or 400RMB for half an year)

After receiving the application forms, in 2-4 weeks the Admission Notice and JW202 visa application forms will be posted to you.
With the above documents and passport the applicant can apply for student visa (X visa) from Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country.
If your students choose to live on campus, they will leave on the New campus（Baoshan campus）, for they will have their courses there. If your students don't fill in any choice, it means they are not applying for on-campus rooms.
Single room: 100RMB per day
Double room: 50RMB per day
If you pay for 3 months room fee for one time, 75% discount is available.

3) Courses open:
There are three terms for an academic year, that is, fall, winter and spring. And there are different English courses open in each term. Check the attachments for courses list and syllabus.
We usually adopt: 1 Shanghai University Credit = 2 ECTS.
